Update from Marlborough Food Bank

The Food Bank is overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from the community as the restrictions due to the Covid-19 virus begin to affect us locally.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
For the many monetary and food donations we have received from our community.
Thank you to FOODSHARE of Bloomfield CT who is working with a reduced staff & working hard to continue providing its Partner Food Pantries like us with frozen meats and shelf stable foods at a very low cost.

We continue to be open on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm and 3:30-5:30pm for anyone who is in need of food. No paperwork or questions asked.

Deliveries can be arranged for those who prefer to not leave their house (food can be left at your front door) Please MESSAGE us or call Dave or Dawn.
Please Check In With Your Neighbors – We Will Get Through This Together

The Food Bank is preparing for the needs of the entire community. Despite the good and loving intentions, we cannot accept or distribute prepared foods, so we do not need assistance cooking – thank you for the kind offers!

Foods: Canned soups or soup mixes, canned vegetables and fruits, packaged macaroni and pastas, spaghetti sauce, canned meats and tuna fish, canned chili, baked beans, shelf-stable milk, pancake mix (just add water), peanut butter, jelly, crackers, cake or brownie mixes and snacks.

PLEASE check expiration dates, as we are unable to distribute products that are nearing or have passed their expiration date.

The Food Bank will be implementing new procedures in the coming weeks to distribute food to our clients. In order to limit contact between clients and volunteers, we will begin bagging client food choices and putting the bags in the garage for clients to pick up during our normal hours of operation. These procedures are necessary to protect our clients who fall into the most at-risk groups (Older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease.

From March 13, 2020 Letter from Dr. Law, RHAM Superintendent: While school are closed, grab and go boxed lunches will be provided for families in need. Lunches will be available for pick up beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 between 11:00am-12:00pm every Monday through Friday while the district is closed at the following location:
LOCATION: Marlborough Elementary School Parking Lot- A DATTCO bus will be by the Cafeteria entrance and will have lunches to be picked up at the back of the bus for MES students and RHAM students living in Marlborough

Thank you all for your kindness – we’ll see you on Sunday.
